How to create Instagram ads that will be effective?

Good Instagram ads are a great way to get more exposure to your business, promote your shop or website, and reach new audiences. Instagram ads, like any other, must first of all intrigue users. Ad views alone won’t do you much good if potential customers pass by them indifferently and don’t interact with them. And you have little time to interest them.

What you should know …

In the case of Instagram ads, however, it is relatively easier – after all, it is based on an audiovisual message. So stand out! Show your brand in  an interesting and pleasant way. Give something back so people can trust you  and be sure you’re not just another passionate marketer with clichéd slogans.

Instagram gives us many opportunities to do this. It is good to use them. You can do this by creating ads in formats such as Stories, engaging videos like reels (remember captions!) or creative photos. Carousels are also an extremely interesting option.

Many advertisers on Instagram, due to greater involvement in audiovisual issues, completely forget about copywriting. This is a mistake.

Ok, maybe on this portal it is not as urgent an issue as, for example, in the case of Facebook. Despite this, however, especially in promoted posts, good copy is still very important in the context of acquiring and maintaining the attention of potential customers.

What else is worth doing is scheduling posts. This definitely makes it easier to run an advertising account and allows you to arrange a content schedule in advance. See how to schedule posts on Instagram and how to run a business Instagram.

Finally, it may be a cliché, but it is worth reminding about it – look after your campaigns. It can’t be that you passively wait for the results, don’t look at the statistics at all and, as a result, you may not even know how much the ad costs. Analyze data on an ongoing basis, draw conclusions and correct errors.

How much does it cost to advertise on Instagram

As with Facebook’s advertising system and any other, there is no predetermined cost of advertising on Instagram to specifically answer this question.

This system is settled in the Pay-Per-Click model. This means that you spend money when someone clicks on your ad. So you can be sure that you will not burn through your budget on ineffective ads that will not attract your audience.

The amount spent on one click is Cost-Per-Click. And this is an indicator that, of course, would be good to keep at the lowest possible level. This would mean that you can reach a larger audience for not necessarily large amounts.

Instagram Ads – Instagram Ads Pricing

So what is the distribution of prices per click on an Instagram ad? Well, as it happens in such cases, it varies.

It depends on a number of factors that make up the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of your advertising. So a lot is in your hands here, because it is how you configure and prepare the ad that largely determines the average cost of clicking on it.

An important element of the average CPC is CTR, i.e. the percentage ratio between people who clicked on your ad and those who only saw it.

As you can see, it is not possible to determine a specific cost for advertising on Instagram. Its prices can fluctuate, and the average cost per click can be as much as $0.50, $1.50 or $2.

Instagram advertising and promoting posts

If you have even minimal experience with advertising on Facebook, you will surely see similarities between the mechanics of advertising and promoting posts.

Both forms of advertising can work fantastically, but they also have their limitations.

The basic one is that you can only advertise content that is already published on your profile. You also have no control over where or how often your ad appears. You can’t measure conversions.

In general, although this is a quick and convenient option, with complex campaigns it is better to approach the subject differently and take advantage of the benefits of Facebook Ads Manager. This is a tool that also allows you to run an ad, but also gives you access to a much larger number of configuration options.

Advertising on Instagram from Ads Manager

It is a very convenient tool once you get to know it. In addition, there is no separate panel for Facebook ads and Instagram ads. Both are configured in exactly the same way – minor differences are only due to the availability (or not) of individual options.

You decide whether to show your ad on Facebook or Instagram in the section called “Placements.”

You can then turn off all other places and leave Instagram. In fact, if you have an idea for a dedicated creation, the system also allows you to run separate promotions, e.g. on Instagram Stories alone or the Instagram feed itself.

The most important thing, however, is the ability to create ads that are not visible on the profile itself and those that use advertising formats that are not available from the app itself.

However, I will write about this next time. In the meantime, good luck with your first Instagram advertising efforts and have a read!
